“Job Hunt After Graduation” |
| Posted: 14 Dec 2010 04:23 PM PST By Alexa Helms - Multimedia Journalist/Anchor Tuesday, December 14, 2010 - 5:19pm College graduates are getting a new leg up on their careers. New programs at UTEP are getting students to think about jobs long before graduation. Peer career advisors help students with mock interviews and resume reviews from day one. The help is available online as well. Dr. Richard Padilla is the Vice President of Student Affairs at UTEP, and he says you might be surprised to see that students aren't rushing to career centers around graduation time like they used to. "Day to day traffic has dropped off dramatically in terms of the kind of rush you used to get towards the end of a semester. Now, it's a pretty steady flow of people throughout the semester throughout the school year, but there's a heavy heavy traffic going on online." Padilla said. The career center at UTEP is also available to registered alumni.
