“Jobs go online” |
| Posted: 09 Feb 2011 09:26 PM PST It appears Tasmanian employers are increasingly turning to the internet to advertise job vacancies. One of Australia's major online job-seeking companies, seek.com, says Tasmania recorded a 45 per cent jump in job ads last month. Its spokesman, Michael Davey, says that equates to an extra 500 advertisements. "It's a broad spread in Hobart and Tasmania, whereas on the mainland it's very much skewed to IT and accounting." "So there're spread evenly across health care, trades and services, retail, sales and hospitality and tourism," Mr Davey said. "I think two things, one the overall health of the economy, and two people are probably starting to advertise online more."This entry passed through the Full-Text RSS service — if this is your content and you're reading it on someone else's site, please read our FAQ page at fivefilters.org/content-only/faq.php |
